This paper presents the conclusion of a reading of the layer deeper than I, of Augusto dos Anjos, while studying the intertextual relationship between the discourse of this work and Rui Barbosa, Ruins of a government, pointing out that both have in common: a denunciation of the events surrounding the violence of torture and murder, committed by representatives of the Brazilian Army, as the repression inflicted damn crew insurgent amnesty and the swish of uprising, soon after the start of the government of Hermes da Fonseca, at the end of 1910 . Due to a process of concealing and silencing the truth, Augusto dos Anjos has had his image somewhat distorted, which is shown some biographers and friends of the poet, and was relegated to the background in our literature, although the author's great tragic-lyrical elegy for our civilization.Este trabalho apresenta a conclusão de uma leitura da camada mais profunda do Eu, de Augusto dos Anjos, e ao mesmo tempo o estudo da relação intertextual entre o discurso dessa obra e a de Rui Barbosa, Ruínas de um Governo, pontuando no que ambas apresentam em comum: a denúncia dos acontecimentos envolvendo a violência das torturas e assassinatos cometidos por representantes do Exército Brasileiro, como repressão infligida aos marujos sublevados e anistiados da Revolta da Chibata, logo após o início do governo de Hermes da Fonseca, em fins de 1910. Devido a um processo de ocultamento e de silenciamento da verdade, Augusto dos Anjos teve sua imagem um tanto distorcida, o que o comprovam alguns biógrafos e amigos do poeta, e ficou relegado a um segundo plano em nossa literatura, embora seja o grande autor da elegia lírico-dramática de nossa civilização.
