Resumen
This work presents some proposals for the amplification of industrial designers’
visual vocabulary involved with the projetual practice for the product development.
In order to potencialize this drawing vocabulary, analytic techniques of
verbal language adapted for the visual language are used in this study,. These
used techniques are the three Saussuri’s dichotomies: denotation and connotation,
diachrony and synchrony and paradigm and sintagm. This study is divided
into four moments. In Chapter I there are some aspects, concepts and
structures of the verbal language that give base to the visual language. Chapter
II is focalized on the Saussuri’s analytic techniques, his definitions and applied
structures to the projetual methodologies of product development. The phase
of data collection is accomplished in Chapter III, which analyzes the formation
processes of drawing vocabulary. These processes are materialized in resulting
workmanships of the “industriosidade” and human industrialists. Chapter IV
focuses on the contributions for the ordination of knowledge in the process of
drawing vocabulary formation with views directed to the projetual practice of
industrial designers. Moreover, it presents suggestions for future investigations
on the theme. Finally, this study tells of the favorable situations and difficulties
found during the accomplishment of the work.
