Resumen
The technological evolution has allowed the use of new approaches in the teachinglearning process. Serious games are featured as a special category of games aimed at the transmisson of specific contents and educational purposes. Concerns to the player the environment exploration to understand concepts and then solve the proposed problems. In the teaching of Computer Programming, the approach employed by serious games is potentially beneficial in student motivation. This approach can be used to reduce the high evasion level in Computing courses. Because of that, this research aimed to study about serious games and develop a prototype intended for introductory Object Oriented. However, it is noteworthy to mention that, for the prototype, were only considered the following topics: (1) classes and objects; (2) attributes and methods; (3) the if-else conditional statement; and (4) the while repetition statement.
