In classical sociological texts, history has a strong presence, and the theoretical defence of an historical aware sociology has been common, in particular in Latin America. However, those arguments had been unsuccessful. In this paper we will present some hypothesis around this fact, and we will conclude defending the need of a sociology that is based on an historical knowledge in depth.
