Resumen
Intellectual Property Law, in its broad sense, was of primary interest to the Chilean law makers since the beginnings of independent political life. The promotion of arts, culture, industry and development, advanced in parallel with a secure protection on the property of authors and inventors regarding their respective creations. This article analyze the development, different approaches, discussions and sources of those first laws regarding Intellectual Property, which made Chile one of the first former colonies who regulated that area in detail.
