The present study aims to understand and analyze how the eco-hospitality ritual portrayed in chapter 4, Barbárvore, from book III of the Lord of the Rings saga, The Two Towers, occurs. In the chapter, the moment of welcome is performed by a tree-being, causing strangeness and distinctions in the relatively fixed order of the hospitality ritual. The work is divided into three chapters, the first about theories and concepts important for understanding the study, the second being an analysis of the arboreal body of the host, and the third being an essay on how the ritual of hospitality occurs in the cut chapter. As a result, the work generates a literary critique, aiming to work on the interdisciplinarity between literature, tourism, hospitality, and geography, in addition to understanding how the host experiences hospitality and how it can transform their views, opinions, and perspectives. Moreover, with regard to tourism, it is understood that fantasy literature can be a device to encourage the study of tourism and the practice of the activity.O presente estudo possui como objetivo compreender e analisar como ocorre o ritual de eco-hospitalidade retratado no capítulo 4, Barbárvore, do livro III da saga O Senhor dos Anéis, As Duas Torres. No capítulo, o momento de acolhida é performado por um ser-árvore, causando estranhezas e distinções na ordem relativamente fixa do ritual de hospitalidade. O trabalho é dividido em três capítulos, o primeiro acerca de teorias e conceitos importantes para compreensão do estudo, o segundo sendo uma análise do corpo arbóreo do anfitrião e o terceiro sendo um ensaio sobre como ocorre o ritual de hospitalidade no capítulo de recorte. Como resultado, o trabalho gera uma crítica literária, com o intuito de trabalhar a interdisciplinaridade entre literatura, turismo, hospitalidade e geografia, além de entender como o anfitrião vivencia a experiência da hospitalidade e como esta pode transformar suas visões, opiniões e perspectivas. Além disso, no que tange ao turismo, entende-se que a literatura de fantasia pode ser um dispositivo de incentivo ao estudo de turismo e à prática da atividade.
