This work of completion of course has as central theme the representation of information and knowledge from subareas of Information Science, with a focus on Librarianship and Museology. It has the following starting question: is there a representation of information and standardized knowledge common to Library Science and Museology? It has as general objective to identify the possibility of a representation of information and knowledge from subareas of Information Science, with a focus on Librarianship and Museology. And as specific objectives identify the existence of concepts and historical contributions that can support the analysis of contexts; identify the elements of representation in the two areas; analyze the historical concepts and contributions identified; analyze the technical treatment of the two areas. Part of the difficulty of representing the information contexts between Librarianship and Museology, subareas of Information Science, with regard to a homogeneous dialogue, especially in the fields of documentation. This is a documentary and bibliographical research. In general, it is stated at the moment, that the general objective was reached, since the possibility of a representation of information, with a focus on Librarianship and Museology, is identified in an incipient way in the case of the work, reference was made to the systems of representation of Museu de Artes de São Paulo and Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia.Este trabalho de conclusão de curso tem como tema central a representação da informação e do conhecimento a partir de subáreas da Ciência da Informação, com enfoque na Biblioteconomia e Museologia. Tem a seguinte pergunta de partida: existe uma representação da informação e do conhecimento padronizada comum a Biblioteconomia e a Museologia? Tem por objetivo geral identificar a possibilidade de uma representação da informação e do conhecimento a partir de subáreas da Ciência da Informação, com enfoque na Biblioteconomia e na Museologia. E como objetivos específicos identificar a existência de conceitos e aportes históricos que possam dar suporte à análise dos contextos; identificar os elementos de representação nas duas áreas; analisar os conceitos e aportes históricos identificados; analisar o tratamento técnico das duas áreas. Parte da dificuldade de se representar os contextos informativos entre a Biblioteconomia e a Museologia, subáreas da Ciência da Informação, no que diz respeito a um diálogo homogêneo, principalmente nos campos da documentação. Trata-se de uma pesquisa documental e bibliográfica. No computo geral, afirma-se neste momento, que o objetivo geral foi alcançado, vez que se identifica mesmo de forma incipiente a possibilidade de uma representação da informação, com enfoque na Biblioteconomia e na Museologia no caso do trabalho foi feito referência aos sistemas de representação do Museu de Artes de São Paulo e do Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia.São Cristóvão, SE
