In this research we present an analysis of the ceramics from the Victoria Regia I site. The latter used to lay on the right bank of the São Francisco River, city of Canindé do São Francisco, in the Xingó Region. We sought to understand and characterize the ceramic production processes of this site thought the analysis of the attributes from different excavation levels and regional archaeological context. Using the available bibliography, fieldwork documentation, laboratorial analysis, and the comparison with nearby sites, we mapped the characteristics of the archaeological record with which we worked. The continuities and changes over time presented by the Vitória Régia I site, crystalized in the choices undertook by the individuals and the collectivity which inhabited the place, possibly demonstrate a millenary practice of ceramic producing. This because, besides having a date which indicates that the site was occupied in a period before the beginning of the Cristian era, the site has a few evidences that it continued to be occupied in the post-contact period. At the same time, there seems to have been no signs of rupture in the record. Hence, during this period, time seems to have maintained an incredible consistency in the making of ceramics in this site.O presente trabalho oferece uma análise da cerâmica do sítio Vitória Régia I, localizado no baixo São Francisco, município de Canindé de São Francisco, região de Xingó. Buscou-se compreender e caracterizar os processos de produção cerâmica desse sítio através da análise dos seus atributos ao longo dos níveis de escavação e do contexto arqueológico da área. Através da bibliografia disponível, documentação de campo, análise laboratorial e comparação com os demais sítios adjacentes, mapeamos as características do registro arqueológico sob o qual nos debruçamos. As continuidades e mudanças apresentadas pelo sítio Vitoria Régia I, cristalizadas nas escolhas dos indivíduos e de uma coletividade que ali estiveram, possivelmente demonstram uma prática milenar de se fazer cerâmica. Isso porque, além de possuir uma data que indica a ocupação do sítio em um período anterior ao início da era cristã, o sítio apresenta algumas evidencias de que seguiu sendo utilizado depois do início dos contatos com os europeus. Ao mesmo tempo, não se identificou nenhuma grande ruptura no registro. Portanto, durante esse período o tempo parece ter mantido uma incrível constância na forma de fazer cerâmica no sítio.Laranjeiras
