This essay aims to understand and compare the liberal and critical views on the crisis of liberal democracies. It is intended, through bibliographical review and classical hermeneutics, to highlight the main arguments and conclusions of the authors about the crisis and to compare them. The hypothesis is that liberal authors infer that the ineffectiveness of liberal democracy institutions led to its crisis, while critical authors argue that neoliberalism, its forms of legitimation and the new world-reason born of it, explains the current crisis of liberal democracies. Thus, this essay seeks to prove that these are the causes of the crisis according to these theories and that they complement each other, as they explain the ongoing economic-political-institutional crisis. It is concluded that the crisis of liberal democracies can be understood, in a more comprehensive way, using critical and liberal perspectives together, being, therefore, complementary.Pesquisa sem auxílio de agências de fomentoTrabalho de Conclusão de Curso (Graduação)Este trabalho tem o objetivo de entender e comparar as visões liberal e crítica sobre a crise das democracias liberais. Buscar-se-á, mediante revisão bibliografia, destacar os principais argumentos e conclusões dos autores sobre a crise e compará-los. A hipótese é a de que os autores liberais inferem que a ineficácia das instituições da democracia liberal levou à sua crise, enquanto os autores críticos argumentam que o neoliberalismo, suas formas de legitimação e a nova razão-mundo nascida dele, explica a atual crise das democracias liberais. Logo, buscar-se-á apontar, neste trabalho, que essas são as causas da crise segundo essas correntes e que elas se complementam, pois explicam a crise econômica-política-institucional em andamento. Conclui-se que a crise das democracias liberais pode ser entendida, de forma mais abrangente, utilizando as perspectivas críticas e liberais em conjunto, sendo, pois, complementares.
