This study aims to understand, in the view of the teachers of the Specialized Educational Care of the Multifunctional Resource Room, whether the medical report is considered an indispensable or essential instrument in the reality experienced. To this end, it is characterized as a quanti-quali and exploratory research, based on secondary data, which had as participants 40 teachers who worked in the Multifunctional Resource Rooms and who are part of a Regional Teaching Secretariat of the State of Minas Gerais. The results indicate that the Multifunctional Resource Rooms, at the time of the research, were frequented both by students targeted by special education, as well as by students with other specificities. Which led us to question the requirement of the medical report. The research data indicate that, for some teachers, the requirement is seen as a form of exclusion, since access to the report is not a simple and accessible route for all families and not all students of specialized educational care were part of the target audience. For other teachers it is a support for pedagogical intervention. In the end, it was possible to show that the report is an instrument that, in an inclusive perspective, should serve only as a complement. It is concluded that the way the current policy is structured does not solve the problem of referrals, but rather leaves a gap in the care of students who do not fit the policy of special education, being once again excluding.Este estudo tem por objetivo compreender, na visão dos professores do Atendimento Educacional Especializado da Sala de Recurso Multifuncionais, se o laudo médico é considerado um instrumento imprescindível ou prescindível na realidade vivenciada. Para tanto, se caracteriza como uma pesquisa quanti-quali e exploratória, com base em dados secundários, que teve como participantes 40 professoras que atuavam nas Salas de Recursos Multifuncionais e que fazem parte de uma Secretaria Regional de Ensino do Estado de Minas Gerais. Os resultados apontam que as Salas de Recurso Multifuncionais, no momento da pesquisa, eram frequentadas tanto por estudantes público-alvo da educação especial, como por estudantes com outras especificidades. O que nos levou a questionar a exigência do laudo médico. Os dados da pesquisa apontam que para alguns professores a exigência é vista como uma forma de exclusão, já que o acesso ao laudo não é um percurso simples e acessível para todas as famílias e nem todos os estudantes do atendimento educacional especializado faziam parte do público alvo. Para outros professores ele é um apoio para a intervenção pedagógica. Ao final foi possível evidenciar que o laudo é um instrumento que em uma perspectiva inclusiva deveria servir apenas como complemento. Conclui-se que a maneira como a política atual se estrutura, não resolve o problema dos encaminhamentos, mas sim deixa uma lacuna no atendimento de estudantes que não se enquadram na política de educação especial sendo mais uma vez excludente.
