dc.descriptionThe insufficient research on regional elites in Chile has resulted in a homogeneous account by social sciences, eluding the question of the complex and networked constitution of our national context (and its elites). Southern Chilean elites come from European immigration, settled in the territory and actively participating in the economic, political, social, cultural and institutional life of their communities and territorial spaces. This exploratory-descriptive quantitative research focuses on the educational space given its relevance in the conformation and reproduction of the elites, and investigates the transition from school to university of students from private schools in the southern zone, describing the main transformations and continuities of this transition for the period 2011-2021. The results show an important heterogeneity, which expresses distinctions and verticalities within this reduced group, explained by the independent variables considered, exhibiting similarities and discontinuities over time (compared with itself) and with the central zone of the country.    en_US
dc.descriptionLa escasa investigación sobre élites regionales en Chile ha desembocado en un relato homogéneo por parte de las ciencias sociales, que elude la pregunta por la constitución compleja y en red de lo nacional (y sus élites). Las élites del Sur de Chile provienen de la inmigración europea, asentada en el territorio y participante activa en la vida económica, política, social, cultural e institucional de sus localidades y espacios territoriales. Esta investigación cuantitativa de carácter exploratorio-descriptivo se enfoca en el espacio educativo dada su relevancia en la conformación y reproducción de las élites, e indaga en el tránsito desde el espacio escolar al universitario de estudiantes de colegios particulares de la zona Sur, describiendo las principales transformaciones y continuidades de dicho tránsito para el período 2011-2021. Los resultados dan cuenta de una heterogeneidad importante, que expresa distinciones y verticalidades al interior de este reducido grupo, que se explican por las variables independientes consideradas, exhibiendo similitudes y discontinuidades en el tiempo (comparado consigo mismo) y con la zona central del país.    es_ES
