In this article we discuss the experience of building the virtual repository that resulted from the "Archivos Migrantes" project. The aim of the project was to build a collection of testimonies, photographs and videos that would inform about the cultural and artistic practices of migrants from Latin American and Caribbean countries who have come to live in Chile, with the ultimate goal of contributing to their dissemination and valorization. In order to achieve this goal, we use tools derived from participatory methodologies to generate a process of co-construction of this collection of practices of migrant communities. Likewise, we analyze the very notion of a "migrant archive" that gave the project its name, reflecting on how this epistemological orientation towards the notion of the archive has guided the creation of categories and the organization of the repository itself. Finally, we conclude with some reflections on the scope and limitations of the project.En este artículo reflexionamos sobre la experiencia de construcción del repositorio virtual que surgió como resultado del proyecto “Archivos Migrantes”. El objetivo del proyecto fue construir un acervo de relatos, fotografías y videos que dieran cuenta de las prácticas culturales y artísticas de las personas migrantes provenientes de países de Latinoamérica y el Caribe que han llegado a vivir a Chile, con el fin último de aportar a su difusión y puesta en valor. Para lograr el objetivo planteado, utilizamos herramientas derivadas de las metodologías participativas para generar un proceso de co-construcción de este acervo de prácticas de comunidades de personas migrantes. Igualmente, reflexionamos sobre la noción misma de “Archivo Migrante” que dio nombre al proyecto, pensando en cómo esta orientación epistemológica sobre la noción de archivo orientó la creación de categorías y la propia organización del repositorio. Finalmente, cerramos el texto con algunas consideraciones sobre los alcances y límites del proyecto.
