The salsa was born in Cuba and was coming through seaports, in the case of the city of Cali the port of Buenaventura. These rhythms were carried grills and nightclubs, where people felt quickly identified by their joy. This allowed popularizing the genre outside, giving way to what we know as the old guard. However, despite the "Old Guard" who was allowed to expand and become known as "The capital of salsa" they have lost much importance, causing much of the history and tradition is lost. Therefore it is appropriate to vindicate this style and again highlight their participation to continue enduring history. To achieve this, and as a contribution from the field of costume design is important to evaluate the apparel worn by an exploratory research, as this has lagged behind in terms of development and innovation, because it is relevant generate ergonomic changes will allow the dancer old Guard not only stand out for its particular style, discipline and tradition but can also perform more efficiently and favorably for your image.La salsa nace en cuba y fue llegando a través de los puertos marítimos, en el caso de la ciudad de Cali el puerto de Buenaventura. Estos ritmos fueron llevados a grilles y discotecas, donde las personas rápidamente se sintieron identificados por su alegría. Esto permitió que el género se fuera popularizando, dando paso a lo que conocemos como la vieja guardia. Sin embargo, a pesar de que la “Vieja guardia” fue quien permitió su expansión y llegar a ser llamados “La capital de la salsa” han perdido gran importancia, ocasionando que gran parte de la historia y tradición se pierda. Por tal motivo es oportuno reivindicar este estilo y volver a resaltar su participación para que la historia siga perdurando. Para lograrlo, y como aporte desde el campo del diseño de vestuario es importante evaluar la indumentaria usada a través de una investigación exploratoria, ya que esta se ha quedado atrás en cuanto a su evolución e innovación, debido a ello es pertinente generar modificaciones ergonómicas que permitirán que el bailarín vieja Guardia no sólo sobresalga por su particular estilo, disciplina y tradición, sino que también podrá desempeñarse de una forma más eficiente y favorable para su imagen.Universidad de San Buenaventura - Cali
