El presente artículo busca analizar y recopilar en diversas fuentes investigativas, artículos y/o documentos que puedan sustentar la presunción de la relación existente entre el deterioro cognitivo y el riesgo de caídas en adultos mayores, para así fortalecer y a su vez documentar información veraz que profundice aspectos vitales que se dan en la tercera edad desde el ámbito cerebral y motriz. Se realizó una búsqueda bibliográfica selectiva, haciendo uso de base de datos como: Elsevier, ScienceDirect (books-journals), PubMed, SCielo, Google Académico, SCOPUS, LiLacs. Se desarrollará un reconocimiento que integre las diferentes características anatomo-fisiológicas con la necesidad de enfatizar los factores sociodemográficos, que presentan un gran índice de incidencia sobre las funciones mentales y el declive en la fase de la marcha del adulto mayor afectado. Con el propósito de proveer información que facilite las acciones de una profesional y que estas sirvan de base para la implementación de medidas de prevención temprana con el fin de brindarle seguridad física y mental a esta población.This article seeks to analyze and compile in various research sources, articles and / or documents that can support the presumption of the relationship between cognitive impairment and the risk of falls in older adults, to strengthen and in turn document truthful information that deepens vital aspects that occur in the elderly from the brain and motor field.
