Improvement of inventory control system, is one of the most important factors that CERRO MATOSO S.A. must take into account (Oviedo, 2018). The unavailability of critical materials can affect the company's production processes. For instance, those used for the maintenance of equipment or personal protection elements for the realization of tasks within the company. In this work, new reorder point values and order sizes are proposed to the materials that are selected in the diagnostic that is made to the company with the help of the inventory coordinator. This document aims to bring forward a proposal for improving the inventory control system of Cerro MATOSO S.A. Company, by applying an inventory control model for independent demands.

Práctica empresarial
 
El mejoramiento del sistema del control de inventarios, en CERRO MATOSO S.A. es uno de los factores más importantes que la compañía debe tener en cuenta (Oviedo, 2018). La no disponibilidad de materiales críticos puede afectar los procesos productivos de la empresa. Ejemplo de estos son los usados para el mantenimiento de equipos o los elementos de protección personal para la realización de las labores dentro de la empresa. En el presente trabajo, se proponen nuevos valores de punto de reorden y tamaños de pedido a los materiales que son seleccionados en el diagnóstico que se realiza a la empresa con la ayuda del coordinador de inventarios. Este documento tiene como objetivo, presentar una propuesta de mejoramiento al sistema de control de inventarios de la Compañía CERRO MATOSO S.A., lo cual se logra mediante la aplicación de un modelo de control de inventario para demandas independientes.
