El cine, tanto en los imaginarios de las ficciones de sus películas, donde ha recreado su propio futuro tecnológico, como en las reflexiones de muchos autores como Dziga Vertov o Jean Epstein, ha visto en su complejo mecánico –y hoy electrónico y digital-, la posibilidad de constituirse como una máquina de pensamiento. Esta idea es confrontada a la imagen del hombre como máquina, desde conceptos filosóficos y científicos hasta las críticas culturales a la civilización moderna como instrumento mecanizador de los seres humanos. Pero son también las mismas industrias culturales, del espectáculo y del entretenimiento, que en buena forma han contribuido a la mecanización y automatización de los hombres y mujeres de las sociedades modernas.Cinema, in the imaginaries of the fiction of its films, where it has recreated its own technological future, as well as in the reflections of many authors like Dziga Vertov or Jean Epstein, has seen in its mechanical-and today, electronic and digital complex, the possibility of constituting itself as a thought machine. This idea is confronted to the image of man as a machine, from philosophical and scientific concepts up to cultural criticism of modern civilization as a mechanizing instrument of human beings. But the same cultural industries, of show business and entertainment, that have greatly contributed to the mechanization and automatization of the men and women of modern societies.
