ABSTRACT: The tensions generated between the Vocational Technical Training (FTP) provided by the National Learning Service (SENA) and its weak impact on the social and productive contexts puts on the academic-investigative scenario, the urgency of attending and redefining the management of this training system in Colombia.
The pragmatic and productivist treatment that is given to the FTP reveals the absence of epistemological bases that correspond to its human and social nature, necessary in the structuring of a comprehensive response that, in a coherent way with this, refines its processes according to of the integral profiling of the subject, of which cognitive development is an inherent part, that is, treating it in its condition as a person, citizen and worker, not exclusively and restricted to this last role.
This study aims to pave the way in order to contribute to correct the epistemological lag of the FTP related to the need to develop superior thinking within its formative processes in line with the demands raised by the current knowledge society, evidenced in social contexts. and productive presented in this document.
The findings and results generated seek to complement the curricular proposals of the FTP based on the sense and meaning that the development of superior thinking connotes within its management; as well as redefining the practices of instructor trainers and instructors on the basis of greater understanding of the need and importance of inserting the cognitive component in the teaching and learning processes they guide; In the same way, strengthen the development of higher thinking in apprentices with a view to achieving higher levels of relevance in their integral development as people and as workers in interaction in the current knowledge society.
The contribution of this investigative process is reflected in a proposal of curricular guidelines for Vocational Technical Training, both for its design and curricular development.
