Resumen
The present study describes the relationship between video game dependence and life satisfaction in law students of Santo Tomás University, headquarters of Villavicencio. The research has a quantitative approach, based on a non-experimental design with a descriptive/correlational scope of transactional cut. The Video Game Dependency Test (Marcos and Chóliz, 2011) and the Diener Life Satisfaction Scale were used as instruments. The total sample was 256 participants; however, based on the exclusion criteria, the results of 225 participants were taken into account (51% Women y 49% Men). The results of the research indicate that 29% of the participants present a moderate level of dependence on video games (moderate to high level). Taking into account the results of previous research, it is confirmed that dependence on video games is predominant in the male population. 66% of the participants present a moderate level of satisfaction with life (a little satisfied and satisfied). Finally, it was found that there is a weak inversely proportional, and statistically significant correlation between video game dependence and life satisfaction.
