Resumen
The purpose of this document is to collect information on the connection possibilities between two industrial automation technologies: articulated robots and PLCs. For this, a bibliographical review was carried out that allowed to identify the most common connection methods between these two tools. This information was obtained after reviewing some previous research papers that have used the aforementioned equipment. The document focuses on analyzing the feasibility of connecting these two technologies, and what are the most common connection methods to subsequently propose projects that can be put into practice with the elements available in the USTA Mechatronics Engineering Faculty that are PLCs. S7-1200 from SIEMENS and the industrial robot IRB 120 from ABB.
