Resumen
Currently, teenage adolescents face the challenge of seeking acceptance in increasingly complex environments, where psychological and emotional elements are influenced by both the advantages offered by technological means of communication and the associated risks. This documentary study analyzed the implications of access to social media on the development of antisocial behaviors in Colombian youth, using relevant theoretical frameworks. The search focus was on scientific repositories, particularly in the fields of psychology and behavioral sciences. The search technique relied on the review of studies published in relevant Colombian journals. Three articles published between 2013 and 2023 were selected to describe the current state of knowledge on this topic. The findings support Bandura's theory (1977), which suggests that access to aggressive or inappropriate content through electronic media can influence the adoption of antisocial behaviors by adolescents. These findings also relate to the moral development of teenagers in terms of their antisocial behavior. In the early stages of moral development, individuals may be more focused on satisfying their own needs and desires, which can hinder their ability to consider how their actions affect others. This can lead to antisocial behaviors in the digital environment, where aggressors may feel distant or disconnected from the consequences of their actions.
