Abstract
This article aims to identify some possibilities and limitations in using the technologies of
the Information and Communication in Teacher Education. The approach used was literature
research, by which it was possible to make some considerations about the con-historical
constitution of Distance Education in the world, and more specifically in particular Brazil. As we
examined how this has been instituted in con-temporary. From our analysis and reflective
processes undertaken in this research, it is emphasized that the accumulation of fragmented and
dichotomized curricula and greater tendency to replicate the educational model for the classroom
model of distance education are some of the limits that the training of teachers from distance
education needs to overcome. As possi-ties can highlight the possibility of thinking of a proposal
for teacher education from a more interactive and unattended. That through the use of Information
and Communication Technologies and distance education, allows the overcoming of physical
barriers, geographical and educational in the process of seeking knowledge allowing to follow the
accelerated process of scientific and technological development.
