Análise do setor hoteleiro no contexto da pandemia do covid-19: um estudo bibliométrico no Brasil

Abstract

The current scenario of the Covid-19 pandemic is critical. Balancing both economic and health impacts is also being a challenge for the tourism sector, especially for the hotel sector that is reinventing itself and seeking data and information for management and survival strategies in the face of this new situation. Thus, this study aims to analyze how scientific studies on the impacts of Covid-19 on the hotel sector in Brazil are configured, since the beginning of the pandemic. Regarding the method used, it performed a qualitative research with quantitative traits, with exploratory-descriptive purpose, adopting as a technical procedure the bibliographical and documentary research, as well as the bibliometric analytical investigation. As a result, ten studies related to this theme in the Brazilian context and two studies in the state of Rio Grande do Sul were identified. As main analysis, it was found that there are a relatively small number of studies that deal with the hotel industry in the context of the pandemic. It is also concluded that the Covid-19 pandemic had negative effects, generating great impacts for the sector. Among the main interference aspects identified, the following stand out: drastic reduction in demand, causing cancellations of reservations, reduction in the workforce, employee leaves, sharp drop in revenue and debt.
