Resumen
Consumer units are defined by a set of facilities of a single customer characterized by the
delivery of electric power at a single point, with individualized metering. For installations
with an installed load of more than 75kW the electric power supply by the concessionaire
must be at primary voltage, i.e. medium voltage. Due to the increase in demand for new
consumer substations, there has also been a significant increase in demand for the expansion of existing substations. Thus, this paper presents the development of a methodology and a computational tool for implementation or expansion of substation of consumer
units according to the standards of the Concessionária Paulista de Força e Luz (CPFL -
Energia). The tool was developed through the Excel spreadsheet program in which allows
the dimensioning of all equipment necessary for the development of a project of medium
voltage substation as: distribution transformer, current and potential transformer, disconnecting switches, lightning arresters, circuit breakers, relays, fuse switches and auxiliary
equipment. Furthermore, for cases in which the transformer is installed in sheltered stations, the tool provides the dimensioning of the masonry cabin. Through the methodology
adopted, the tool developed provided positive and reliable results, demonstrating the validation of the data through comparison with existing substation projects. Furthermore, it plays
an important role as an aid and learning tool in classroom teaching environments. The simple and didactic language provides engineering students with the experience of carrying
out a medium voltage substation project step by step according to real projects. With this,
the tool provides an optimized and practical environment for the designer, whether he is an
engineer or engineering student.
