The insertion of Environmental Education in pedagogy courses is still a challenge. The objective of this work was to investigate about the environmental perceptions of students of the Pedagogy Course in relation to environmental themes and how they are presented in the course curriculum. This is a research with a qualitative and quantitative approach. The methodology used was descriptive exploratory analysis based on the application and analysis of questionnaires, together with the analysis of the pedagogical project and the programs of the disciplines of the pedagogy course at UFSM. 61 students participated in this research. We identified the trend of liberal pedagogies very present in the perceptions of the interviewees. Environmental themes are worked on in different disciplines in the pedagogy course, mainly in the area of Sciences, which comprise two disciplines of the course. Which bring questions about consumption and sustainable development, diversity and specificities of the school community, and EE in the school context. With this, rethinking the practice of EE in general and especially in the training of pedagogy teachers with the creation of compulsory subjects and continuing education, is a current need so that they can contribute even more to improving the quality of education in the area.
