Gestão documental em instituições de saúde: um estudo de caso no Hospital Dr. Pedro J. Calil da cidade de Formigueiro

Abstract

This research had as a theme to investigate how the record management is performed at Pedro Jorge Calil Hospital, an institution located in the city of Formigueiro in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Its main objective was to Analyze the Management of the Patient Record archive of the Hospital Dr . Calil in the city of Formigueiro, and is subdivided into three specific objectives, namely: To verify how the custody of the Patient Records of the Hospital is being carried out; Find out if a Patient Record elimination process has occurred and investigate the frequency of consultation in the holdings after twenty years of the last record. As methodological procedures, interviews were conducted with the manager of the health institution, using a form with previously established questions related to the research objectives. It is verified that the documentation is archived and stored in an empirical way without obeying the legislation in force, being administered by employees from other areas, without ever having an archivist in the institution's staff. From the analysis collected, it is concluded that there is no record management in the referred health institution
