“Saúde é saúde e escola é escola”: uma fragmentação a ser superada

Introduction: The actions of the School Health Program require an effective intersectoral
practice between the Health and Education sectors. Aim: To describe the perception of
school managers about the School Health Program and to elaborate strategies to
strengthen intersectoriality in carrying out the actions of the School Health Program.
Method: Qualitative, descriptive study, which used content analysis, thematic modality.
Semi-structured interviews were conducted via Google Meet with five
teachers/managers. The study respected the ethical precepts of research with human
beings. Results: It was possible to identify three predominant thematic categories:
“Difficulties and challenges in carrying out the actions of the School Health Program”;
“The fundamental role of “partnerships” in daily school life in a context of vulnerability”
and “The Covid-19 pandemic and the School Health Program.” It was perceived that there
are many challenges to be overcome so that the actions of the School Health Program
were carried out effectively by the Health and Education sectors. For this, it is necessary
to overcome the fragmentation between both sectors and strengthen the intersectoral
action so that the actions of the Health at School Program are built and carried out jointly,
between Health and School, thus achieving the objectives. Conclusion: With the
strengthening of the intersectoral work between Health and Education, the actions of the
School Health Program can be more effective and, consequently, generate better health
for students, their families, and the community.
