Resumen
Electrical grounding is essential for an electric power distribution system, even more so in
networks with ground return. Amid the expansion of rural networks, the cost of a three-phase
power grid can make the project impracticable, restricting the consumer to an MRT (singlephase with earth return) or MRN (single-phase with neutral return) network. Recent studies
have proposed the construction of an innovative three-phase network that uses earth with a
phase conductor. The T2F system (three-phase two wires) makes the installation of threephase networks in rural areas financially viable because, in addition to occupying a large part
of the existing structure, it is not limited to single-phase power. However, security issues still
need to be evaluated for this type of topology. This work aims to study the security characteristics so that such a network can be implemented. The equations and safety assessments were
performed in a virtual environment, but the soil stratification was based on results measured
in a test terrain that proved to be safe in its operation even with several grounding rods.
