Resumen
The anthropological studies about oldness and aging have been increasingly addressing reflexively the
diferent ways of experiencing old age and how it is built, perceived and meant by these subjects in the
multiples spaces of interaction and sociability. Inside this discussion and dialogue with what would
approach an urban anthropology, the purpose of this paper is to analyze and describe the construction
of sociability and belonging networks by interlocutors that assiduously attend a Coffee Shop in the city
centre, located at centre walk of Santa Maria – RS. Known locally as ‘B oca Maldita’ , this space
represents a simbolic site of interection and sociability betwen ancient men in the city. Having raised
this questions, this study proposes to understand the ways of life, the construction of identities and the
logic underlying the usual interlocutors that configuring and compose the urban landscape of the city
having as methodological support the ethnography and its equipments; the observation participant,
interviews and informal conversations. Together with the literature review on topics aging, social
identity and urban spaces proposes to delineate a theoretical field and methodological approach to
urban dynamics and its implications and copositions in the city horizon and and the actors involved.
