Resumen
The objective of this paper was verifying if the ambiental aspects experienced in the
childhood of children in first grade of Basic Education, in three public schools in the city of Santo
Ângelo-RS, have influenced their Basic Motor Skill. The initial group was composed of 60
children, among them 29 (16 girls and 13 boys) have been selected and have realized three tasks:
throwing, jumping for distance and dinamic balance, and they have granted a interview to know
their current motor activities. The parents answered a list of questions about the life of children
when they were younger. The boys presented a better performance in the three tasks and the great
majority of their group are in the higher score group, discovering the ambiental aspects were
propitious to develop active motor experiences, like ample movement activities. The great majority
of girls were in the minor score group and their ambient does not seem to stimulate the basic
movement skill, the stability as well as manipulation. An insteresting point is that boys have a worst
performance from jumping to throwing and from throwing to balance. Some people think that is
possible to determinate the importance of ambiental aspects in performance of children, specially
taking in consideration the cultural aspect about the gender differences that have been taken from
parents, and this difference is assimilated and lived by the children.
