Democracia e bem comum na crítica de Schumpeter à teoria clássica da democracia

This work has as objective to expose and discuss the criticism made by Joseph Schumpeter in
his book Capitalism, Socialism and Democracy, to which he is entitled classic doctrine of
democracy, and some of their counterpoints. Schumpeter builds his criticism by defining what
he represents the model of classical doctrine, and attempts to deconstrued it attacking what he
says is the main foundation of the theory: the common good. To build his criticism of the
author rejects the assumptions of the classical doctrine and its values, and seeks to highlight
the impossibility of the existence of a common good for all individuals. He builds an analysis
method that enables closer to the factual reality and describe democracy as it is. In spite of his
theory have an elitist character, Schumpeter draws attention to the undemocratic decisions,
and strongly criticizes the notion of popular will, as if uses of social psychology studies to
justify their conception on human nature in politics.
