Resumen
Objective: To analyze the therapeutic itinerary of pregnant adolescents affected by vaginosis and/or
vaginitis. Methods: This is a descriptive, exploratory research with a qualitative approach, developed
through the Gestar e Giving Project: whatsapp as a tool to support health promotion. For data collection,
an instrument was applied that included socioeconomic data, gynecological and obstetric aspects of
pregnant adolescents, followed by a semi-structured interview with 4 (four) open questions. Data were
organized using Atlas.ti ® Qualitative Data Analysis software, version 9.0, for data analysis. Results: Two
thematic categories were identified: 1) THE UNDERSTANDING OF ADOLESCENTS: vaginosis and/or
vaginitis, in which little or no understanding about the diseases was identified, despite this the participants
knew ways to prevent the onset of symptoms and how to maintain intimate health; and 2) INFORMAL,
POPULAR AND PROFESSIONAL SECTOR: the itinerary in search of guidance on vaginosis and/or
vaginitis, in this category there was a predominance of the informal and professional sector as the most
traveled by pregnant adolescents, in which they received guidance and indications of treatments.
Conclusions: In this study, it was identified that the family is the priority sector for seeking health care,
allied to this is the knowledge that comes from contact with health professionals, indicating access to
institutionalized health services, but preserving the knowledge of the family sector. Some limitations of this
study were to carry out the research in only one Basic Health Unit and with participants in a specific age
group.
