El objetivo principal de este estudio es comprobar si las dificultades de las funciones ejecutivas, espec?ficamente de la memoria, bucle fonol?gico y esquema visoespacial son variables determinantes para el bajo rendimiento acad?mico de estudiantes de b?sica secundaria. Para dar respuesta a esto, se ha evaluado la MT , con el instrumento WISC utilizando las sub pruebas :D?gitos ,aritm?tica y n?meros y letras. Se aplicaron a 20 estudiantes de los cuales 10 tienen alto rendimiento acad?mico (AR) y 10 tienen bajo rendimiento acad?mico (BR). A trav?s de los resultados obtenidos podemos concluir que no se encuentran diferencias significativas, entre estudiantes quienes tienen alto y bajo rendimiento acad?mico, en la memoria de trabajo.The main objective of this study is to test whether the difficulties of executive functions, specifically memory, phonological loop and visospatial schema are determining variables for the low academic performance of high school students. To answer this, the MT has been evaluated with the WISC instrument using the subtests: Digits, arithmetic and numbers and letters. They were applied to 20 students of which 10 have high academic performance (AR) and 10 have low academic performance (BR). Through the results obtained we can conclude that there are no significant differences between students who have high and low academic performance in the working memory.
