ABSTRACT: This research exercise aims to illustrate the benefits of mindfulness, as a support to
cognitive behavioral therapy, with a 7-year-old boy diagnosed with ADHD, an inattentive
subtype, a student at the Clodomiro Ramírez school from the city of Medellín.
On the day of children diagnosed with ADHD there is a multiplicity of challenges, both
academic and behavioral, bringing adverse situations as a result of their neurological
condition and affecting them greatly, since they do not yet have the tools to manage their
actions and focus their Attention in school tasks and family life, it is here where the
mindfulness tied to a cognitive behavioral treatment becomes part of a comprehensive
strategy in order to improve the quality of life of the child.
In this study we will find a deeper explanation of the benefits of mindfulness in the child's
care and how this contextual tool manages not only to focus and improve the child's
attention but also to improve their quality of life.
