El fomento de la lectura se ha convertido en un tema muy importante no solo para la comunidad educativa, sino también para otros agentes externos, que ven esta actividad como una ventana abierta al conocimiento y al descubrimiento de nuevos horizontes, para la búsqueda de soluciones a los problemas que afectan el entorno cotidiano. Teniendo como base este referente, la siguiente propuesta de investigación tiene el propósito de situarnos en la realidad que se vive una escuela rural de nuestro país en torno a los procesos lectores, teniendo en cuenta que la lectura aporta elementos de reflexión y análisis que, como científicos sociales, debemos conocer y abordar, para ayudar a dar solución inmediata o minimizar los problemas cercanos a nuestra realidad. Es de resaltar que dará una mirada cercana a los referentes teóricos y otros estudios que abordan también esta realidad, para fortalecer todos los nexos que nos brinden herramientas de acercamiento y trabajo que impulsen el desarrollo de todas las dimensiones del ser humano y, por ende, su realización como entes en siempre auto construcción.The promotion of reading has become a very important issue not only for the educational community, but also for other external agents, who see this activity as an open window to knowledge and the discovery of new horizons, to search for solutions to problems that affect the everyday environment. Based on this reference, the following research proposal has the purpose of situating ourselves in the reality that a rural school in our country lives around the reading processes, taking into account that reading provides elements for reflection and analysis that, as social scientists, we must know and address, to help provide an immediate solution or minimize the problems close to our reality. It is noteworthy that it will give a close look at the theoretical references and other studies that also address this reality, to strengthen all the links that provide us with tools of approach and work that promote the development of all dimensions of the human being and, therefore, their realization as entities in always self-construction
