Many bioactive compounds and/or phytochemicals such as alkaloids are either poorly soluble or lipophilic compounds. One approach that can be used to improve the solubility and biological bioavailability of lipophilic bioactive compounds is to incorporate them into the fine nanoparticles. Nanosponges (NS) are a novel class of hyper-crosslinked polymer-based colloidal structures consisting of solid nanoparticles with nanosized cavities.
The aim of this work was to evaluate the loading efficiency of piperine in the nanosponges synthesized by crosslinking of ß-cyclodextrin with diphenyl carbonate. FONDECYT FONDECYT
