Resumen
This thesis analyzes the inclusion of Education for Sustainable Development in the training of teachers of Biology and Natural Sciences of the University of La Serena, Chile. The analysis is made from the opinions of students and teachers of this degree about the significance, methodologies, and scope that the Education for Sustainable Development is expected to have during the training of future teachers of Biology and Sciences, and relating them with the national Policy on Education for Sustainable Development, the scholar curriculum of Biology and Natural Sciences, the contents of the programs of the subject studied in the Department of Biology at the University of La Serena, and the contributions made by the literature about the subject of Sustainable Development in the preparation of the teachers.
