dc.descriptionIn this study we examine the daily household chores in relation to the care and health measures that women in low-income households in the Northwest of the province of Córdoba perform in relation to their children and other members of the family. In general, the women consulted pointed to the experience of domestic work in health care as an effort that reflects the essential differences between women and men. In times of illness, women often get help from other female relatives and it is at these times when conflicts with the men of the family are triggered. The disagreement that we observed between women and their partners was accentuated by cultural beliefs that have to do with care as an innate task to women, as a kind of maternal sacrifice, as well as socio-economic factors. These private stories of women help us to observe that even today, care at home has a strong cultural content and is linked to gender.en-US
dc.descriptionEn este estudio examinamos los quehaceres domésticos diarios en relación a los cuidados y a la salud que las mujeres de hogares de bajos ingresos del Noroeste de la provincia de Córdoba realizan en relación a sus hijos y a otros integrantes del seno familiar. En general, las mujeres consultadas señalaron la experiencia del trabajo doméstico de cuidado de la salud como un esfuerzo que refleja las diferencias esenciales entre mujeres y hombres. En momentos de enfermedad, las mujeres suelen obtener ayuda de otros familiares femeninos y es en estos momentos cuando se activan los conflictos con los hombres de la familia. La disconformidad que pudimos observar entre las mujeres y sus parejas se vieron acentuadas por creencias culturales que tienen que ver con el cuidado como innato a las mujeres, con una suerte de sacrificio maternal, así como a factores socioeconómicos. Estas historias privadas de mujeres nos ayudan a observar que todavía hoy, los cuidados en el hogar tienen un fuerte contenido cultural y están vinculados al género.es-ES
