Latin American artist of the early twentieth century, seen in the dialectic between own and foreign art. Some people made a wonderful fusion of these two influences that became great art. Primitivism will be the starting point for rediscovering the art itself, first by some artists as Paul Gaughin, as a way to rebel against the established art system during the eighteenth and ninth centuries. The Latin American music scene is going to be influenced by this primitive current, represented in this article by the compositions of Mexicans, Carlos Chavez and Silvestre Revueltas and Brazilian, Heitor Villa-Lobos. The success of these artists settled in clear enriched musical roots, know them, live them and feel them at the time they get in touch with foreign music. Thanks to them the Latin American musical direction changed up to this day.El artista latinoamericano de principios de siglo XX, se ve en la dialéctica entre el arte propio y el ajeno. Hay quienes hicieron de estas dos influencias una fusión maravillosa que se convirtieron en grandes obras de arte. El primitivismo va a ser el punto de partida para redescubrir el arte propio, primeramente por los artistas plásticos tales como Paul Gaughin, como manera de revelarse ante el sistema de arte establecido durante los siglos dieciocho y diecinueve. El ámbito musical latinoamericano se va a ver influenciado por esta corriente primitivista, representada en este artículo por las composiciones de los mexicanos Carlos Chávez, Silvestre Revueltas y el brasileño Heitor Villa-Lobos. El éxito de estos artistas radicó en tener muy claro sus raíces, conocerlas, palparlas, vivirlas y sentirlas para que en el momento en que se rocen con lo ajeno, las enriquezcan. Gracias a ellos el rumbo musical latinoamericano se modificó hasta nuestros días.
