"El objetivo del presente estudio fue el de simular los abatimientos freáticos en un acuífero de manto libre utilizando diferentes patrones de bombeo. Se seleccionó un modelo matemático para describir el flujo del agua subterránea. El modelo se resuelve por el método numérico de diferencias finitas, utilizando un programa computacional desarrollado por Prickett y colaboradores en 1987. En general, se present6 un buen grado de ajuste del modelo seleccionado, describiendo la forma y sentido de movimiento del agua dentro del acuífero. Los mayores abatimientos simulados se ubicaron en la ciudad de Saltillo, así como en el área existente entre ésta y la ciudad de Arteaga; el modelo también reporta algunas celdas al sureste del Valle como "secas". Para la realización de simulaciones con un mayor grado de confianza se deberá ampliar el período de ajuste del modelo, lo que implica un mayor tiempo de observación y cuantificación de los parámetros del acuífero.""The objective of the present study was to simulate the phreatic drop in a free-mantled aquifer using different pumping patterns.
