dc.descriptionThis paper explores the period of Mexican cultural history that determined the first appreciations of the broadsheets and chapbooks published by Anto­nio Vanegas Arroyo. I study texts published between 1917 and 1929 written by Nicolás Rangel, Gerardo Murillo, Jean Charlot, Mariano Silva y Aceves and Rubén M. Campos. These approaches are part of the “discovery of the people” that founded Mexican cultural nationalism in the third decade of the 20th century, but each one has its own specificity. This shows that, although later the focus would be mainly only on the drawings made by Jose Guada­lupe Posada, the work of Vanegas Arroyo as a popular publisher received an early and miscellaneous attention from relevant intellectual figures of the time.en-US
dc.descriptionEste trabajo explora la etapa de la historia cultural mexicana que determi­nó las primeras valoraciones de los impresos publicados por Antonio Vane­gas Arroyo. Se trata de los textos publicados entre 1917 y 1929 por Nicolás Rangel, Gerardo Murillo, Jean Charlot, Mariano Silva y Aceves y Rubén M. Campos. Estas aproximaciones se enmarcan en el “descubrimiento del pue­blo” que fundamentó el nacionalismo cultural mexicano de la tercera década del siglo XX, pero cada una tiene su especificidad propia, lo que demuestra que, aunque posteriormente serían atendidos en general sólo como portadores de los grabados de José Guadalupe Posada, los impresos, la imprenta y la fi­gura de Vanegas Arroyo recibieron una temprana y diversa atención por parte de figuras intelectuales relevantes de la época.es-ES
