Desarrollo de una aplicación android para el control de un sistema de cuidado para gastos (KittyCare)

Abstract

RESUMEN: El ser humano a lo largo de su historia ha buscado domesticar diferentes tipos de animales para su compañía (mascotas), así como para ser usados como animales de carga, de transporte, de experimentación, de caza, para alimentación, etc. En particular, las mascotas se han caracterizado por su comportamiento y lazos que se llegan a formar con el ser humano. Las mascotas suelen ser muy amigables y adaptables, además de que facilitan la convivencia con el ser humano siendo fieles, amorosos y leales con sus dueños. Entre las mascotas más comunes y mayor aceptadas se encuentran los gatos y perros. La adquisición de las mascotas ha demostrado muchos puntos positivos en la salud del ser humano; [1-3] • Ayuda a combatir la depresión y evita sentimientos de soledad. • Mejora el estado de ánimo, reduce el estrés y nervios. • Fortalece el sistema inmunológico. • Predice o detecta algunas enfermedades. • Ayuda a personas con enfermedades como el autismo. • Mejora la esperanza de vida. Existen muchos beneficios que se pueden obtener al llevar una mascota como un integrante más en la familia, pero implica una gran responsabilidad ya que la mascota es un ser vivo que también necesita de muchos cuidados, tiempo y dinero, siendo prioritario proporcionarle una buena alimentación y cuidados. En la actualidad, el ser humano se encuentra muy ocupado día a día, con sus actividades cotidianas, trabajo, necesidades básicas, entretenimiento, entre otras. Lo cual sin querer nos lleva a tener menos tiempo para el cuidado de las mascotas o cubrirlas de manera muy deficiente. El ser humano ha buscado siempre facilitar la forma de cubrir sus necesidades a través de tecnologías. Actualmente, el desarrollo de computadores y teléfonos inteligentes se ha ido en crecimiento en la sociedad. Por estas razones, en el presente trabajo se desarrolló de un prototipo para el cuidado automático/automatizado y a distancia de un gato. El prototipo desarrollado consiste en una aplicación para dispositivo móvil, que permite realizar la alimentación, limpieza y vigilancia, de manera remota. La alimentación se programa de manera automática de acuerdo con las características del gato, tales como su edad, las veces y la cantidad necesaria para una alimentación más saludable con la opción de alimentar más veces si la mascota lo requiere y tendrá acceso a agua a libre demanda. La limpieza es programable por el usuario, ya sea en horas específicas o en el momento que el usuario lo requiera. La vigilancia solamente consiste en mostrar una pantalla en el dispositivo móvil que muestre lo que observe una cámara ip en la vecindad del gato. La aplicación recibirá notificaciones cuando el alimento y/o agua estén a un 20% de agotarse o bien cuando se haya terminado, cuando detecte un problema o un error en el dispositivo. Esta aplicación beneficiará a los usuarios (dueños) y mascotas, ya que permite cubrir las necesidades básicas del gato de una manera rápida y fácil desde cualquier lugar desde su teléfono inteligente, brindándole al gato una mejor calidad de vida. ABSTRACT:Throughout history, mankind has looked to tame different kind of animals for their company and the love an owner and pet can share; but also for other benefits like cargo, transport, experimentation, hunting, feeding, etc. Pets have been characterized by their behaviour and the bonds they make with human beings, they are usually very friendly and adaptable and with shows of love (hugs, kisses and pampering) and manners have made coexistence with society easier, by being loyal, amorous, and loyal with their owners. Among the most common and most accepted mascots we can find cat and dogs. • Acquisition of pets has shown a lot of positive points on human health: • Combats depression and prevents feelings of loneliness • Improves the mood, reduces stress and nerves • Strengthens the immune system • Predicts or detects some diseases • Helps people with disorders like autism • Improves life expectancy There are a lot of benefits by taking a pet as member of a family, but it implies a great deal of responsibility because it is a live being that needs time, money, and to be taken care of, prioritizing providing good feeding and care. Nowadays human beings find their day to day to be terribly busy, with their daily activities, jobs, basic needs, entertaining, to mention a few. Which, unintentionally, leads us to having less time for the care of pets, or covering their needs in a deficient manner. Human being has always looked to facilitate life and needs through technology. The development of computers and smart phones has engraved themselves on human society. The present thesis shows the development of a prototype for the automatic care of a domestic cat. With a mobile application for smartphones, focusing on it’s feeding, cleaning and surveillance, through something so common for the human today. Feeding is automatically programmed according to its age, times and necessary quantity for a healthy diet with an option to feed the pet more times if required; with access to water on demand. Cleaning is programmable by the user, be it at specific hours, or at the moment the user requires so. Surveillance only consists on showing a screen on the mobile device that shows what an IP camera is observing on the cats neighbouring surroundings. The application will receive push notifications when the food or water are at 20% till depletion, or when they’re over, when it detects an issue or bug with the device. This application will benefit both user (owners) and pets, because it allows to cover the basic needs of the cat in a fast and easy manner from any place with internet access from a smartphone, bringing the cat a better life expectancy. Another major advantage is that the user can be away from home without worrying to need to find someone that feeds the cat. We can find some similar products that range from feeding and semi-automatic clearing of litter boxes, until some controlled by smartphones, but the applications are always separate and quite expensive, and not all of them are available in Mexico, only through imports which increases costs and time of acquisition.
