Resumen
A sealed shaft tomb was discovered on Cerro del Piñon, on the central portion of Bolaños Canyon in the northern part of the State of Jalisco, Mexico. The importance of these findings is double. In the first place, no other intact burial of this type had been found, in the state that it was left by its builders. In the second place, it is part of a larger architectural complex. The burial had traits that had not been found in similar context. Among them, the cremation of the human remains, and the use of a pipe. There is evidence for intense interchange of goods, such as sea shells, used as body ornaments. The tomb was used for several inhumations.
