dc.description.abstract | The objective of this study was to determine the contribution made by the feasibility study in the use
of the alternative system of electric vehicle mobility in the urban center of the canton of Azogues,
province of Cañar, to improve sustainable urban mobility. Inductive, deductive, analytical,
observational, and synthetic methods were part of this study with a non-experimental research design.
The data collection techniques were surveys and interviews with two authorities through a
questionnaire, interview guide, and observation sheet focused on determining the current panorama
of urban mobility in the study area, the interest, and acceptance of this type of micro-electric mobility.
The information obtained came from 364 surveys of a total of 6,653 inhabitants of the study area.
This information was necessary to analyze the results, which reported that 58% of surveyed people
use the VMPE system to move at least once a week. A percentage of 84% indicated that they would
like to use this type of vehicle to move in the urban center of the Azogues canton, and 90% of the
inhabitants are interested in the VMPE being public. In addition, the road infrastructure, signage, and
traffic lights are in an acceptable state. Finally, people will use this alternative means of transport to
move from one place to another. In this way, the urban mobility of the Azogues canton will improve.
To sum up, developing projects focused on sustainable mobility issues addressed to the community
and the benefits they represent by contributing to reducing problems in sustainable mobility issues
like a sustainable and comprehensive set. | |
