52 p.La teoría de justificación del sistema (TJS) refiere al proceso psicológico por el cual las condiciones prevalecientes, ya sean sociales, políticas, económicas, sexuales o legales, son aceptadas, explicadas y justificadas simplemente porque existen (Jost & Banaji, 1994). Esta propuesta surge en respuesta a diferentes teorías del área de la Psicología Social que no lograban explicar el por qué las personas adherían a estereotipos negativos sobre sí mismos y sobre su grupo. La TJS permite evidenciar la presencia de las ideologías en la sociedad y como estas operan por medio de representaciones enmascarando relaciones sociales desiguales que favorecen sistemáticamente a un grupo en detrimento de otro. Se realiza un recorrido desde los inicios de la teoría y sus funciones, evidencia acumulada y los desafíos que enfrenta para el futuro. // ABSTRACT: System justification theory (SJT) refers to the psychological process trough wich the prevailing conditions, social, political, economic, sexual, or legal, are accepted, explained, and justified just because they exist (Jost & Banaji, 1994). This approach arise in response to different theories in the area of Social Psychology that failed to explain why people adhered to negative stereotypes about themselves and their group. The SJT allows to show the presence of ideologies in society and how they operate through representations, masking unequal social relations that systematically favor one group to the detriment of another. It makes a journey from the beginnings of the theory and its functions, accumulated evidence and the challenges it faces for the future.
