Canada. Significant achievements 2010-2017

Abstract

The main activities carried out by the Institute in Canada are identified, during the period from 2010 to 2017, with respect to the needs and interests of the country, strengthening issues such as exports, beekeeping, loss reduction, use of greenhouses, research , agroforestry management, plant and animal health, food safety. Likewise, work was done to improve livestock, through genetic studies combating diseases in animals, in the value chains of ruminants, fruits and potato seeds. Finally, support was given to the inclusion of young people in agricultural issues and small and medium-sized entrepreneurs.

Se identifican las principales actividades realizadas por el Instituto en Canadá, durante el período comprendido desde el año 2010 al 2017, con respecto a las necesidades e intereses del país, fortaleciendo en temas como exportación, apicultura, reducción de pérdidas, empleo de invernaderos, investigación, manejo agroforestal, sanidad vegetal y animal, inocuidad alimentaria. Asimismo, se trabajó mejorar la ganadería, por medio de estudios genéticos combatiendo enfermedades en los animales, en las cadenas de valor de rumiantes, frutas y semillas de papa. Finalmente, se apoyó en la inclusión de jóvenes en temas agrícolas y a los pequeños y medianos empresarios.
