This contribution was centered on the hypothesis: soft skills are advices that can encourage efficiency and solidarity, when supported by philosophical theories; they are not completely valuable by themselves. The goal is to add to the scholar, social, political, working and in general cultural field, criterions to make more soft skills complex, for the sake of deciding with prudence and wisdom while using them. Here is depicted a context, to better assess them. The analysis was supported by assumptions of the complex method. There are also contributed, philosophical referents, which are contrasted with soft skills. The potentialities of the soft skills are highlighted as well as their educational advantages.Esta contribución se guió por la hipótesis: las soft skills son consejos que pueden propiciar eficiencia y solidaridad, si se valoran con el soporte de teorías filosóficas; no son del todo valiosas por sí mismas. Su finalidad ha sido aportar al campo educativo, social, político, laboral y en general, cultural, criterios que complejicen las habilidades blandas, en aras de decidir con prudencia y sabiduría su uso. Aquí se ilustraron antecedentes que ayudaron a valorarlas. Ese análisis se apoyó en supuestos del método complejo. También se aportaron, escuetamente, referentes filosóficos a propósito de virtudes humanas, mismos que se contrastaron con las soft skills. Al final se ha instado a ponderar a qué finalidad educativa se contribuye al ejercer las habilidades blandas.
