Resumen
This study aimed to analyze the methodologies of teaching and learning adopted in the 1st year of High School of the State College senator Moraes Barros in the municipality of Jussara-PR. Sociology is a discipline with a history of entry and exit in the school curriculum of high school, this trend has triggered a number of implications, such as lack of official teachers in the area and lack of teaching materials. However, research by applying a questionnaire to students and teacher highlighted the importance of discipline for the training of critical thinking and assimilation of scientific content. Highlighted the importance of awareness of the teacher about their teaching practice and the limits and possibilities for working in the classroom from a critical perspective, besides highlighting the pedagogical trend that guides faculty, among them the historical critical pedagogy action. After analyzing the data collected, it was possible to see important information about the development of teaching and learning the discipline of Sociology. This information indicated that sociology enables students to return a knowledge beyond being common, through the help of the teacher and appropriate methodologies, in which it will be able to reach a criticality that allows you to adopt attitudes that will give you a new look student on society.
