Resumen
The theme of this paper is based on technological innovations and their use in country areas. The purpose of this paper is the development of an irrigation system with remote activation for country areas, with communication between the user and the system controlled by text messages using general packet radio service (GPRS) available in telephone service providers; the control part will be done using programmable logic controller (PLC). The goal is to support a system which there isn’t availability for local operation and that needs an uninterrupted actuation of the controller. Control: The PLC is programmed in LADDER, which receives data via GPRS, and triggers an internal timer that counts a certain time to open a solenoid valve and start the irrigation cycle. This work offers the possibility of performing service automation in a country area, adapting it to a communication service with easy access.
