Resumen
As competition in the domestic and foreign markets is increasing, companies need differentiation to stay competitive. Birdhouses produce different products with high added value from a single raw material, have great opportunities to gain market space. Being overweight is a problem in this field of activity, só it must be solved without breaking the laws that determine the minimum weight of pre-measured products. This research is a case study, which aims to reduce the overweight of frozen products from a production line of a poultry refrigerator, in which it was able to reduce the weight range of four products, respecting the laws in force. As a consequence, the company’s profitability and product quality has been increased.The methodology used to reduce overweight of the four products can be replicated to the others.
