Resumen
The city of Campo Mourão, shows high expenses with public lighting, because it is being illuminated by systems that have numerous irregularities, which in turn, can be solved with improvements in the system, presenting more efficient situations, method of installation according to with established standards and better use of public resources. With these irregularities, in some regions exaggerated lighting occurs and another regions suffer from poor lighting. For the most part, the city is being illuminated by poles named Republicans and by elevated and recessed lights, fixed on poles owned by Copel. In certain cases, this system presents a waste of illumination and of public appeal, due to the fact that this system presents low efficiency and before receiving the lowered poles, there was already lighting by another type of more efficient system, being that when adding the new lighting the city has to honor with the expense of both lighting systems. Thus, the waste, both of electric energy and of materials, occurs. Thus, the purpose of the work is to present improvements in street and street lighting in the city of Campo Mourão, focusing on reducing electricity consumption, reducing waste and reducing the amount of public lighting bills for the population. These improvements occur in the readjustment of these regions, according to the new NBR 5101, which presents a manual on how to install street lighting. In addition, an economic feasibility study will be carried out, after comparing streets with sodium vapor lighting and streets with metallic vapor lamps. These benefits have the purpose of improving the quality of life of residents, reducing maintenance costs, increase efficiency and avoid waste of electricity.
